Mrs. Brinkmeier - guidance counselor
I'm here to help you with academic, college, and career planning. I have many resources for you and your family to help you from graduation requirements, college readiness, and life after high school. I welcome your calls or texts at 815-990-5282 or by email at [email protected].
We have a FAFSA night scheduled on Tuesday, September 17th from 6:30-7:30 in the cafeteria. A representative from Illinois Student Assistance Commission offers a presentation and an opportunity for questions.
For Students:
Seniors: You'll meet with me during the fall and make sure you have the right classes so you are ready for graduation. We'll talk about college choices, the FAFSA, scholarships, and loans. You might consider taking the ACT again to improve your scores.
Juniors: You'll be taking the ACT practice in January to prepare for the ACT in the spring. Depending on your college choices, you might need to take the SAT. You will not need to take both tests.
Sophomores: We will be using CareerCruising to look at colleges and find out which ones meet your needs.
Freshmen: In 9th Computer Applications, I'll introduce you to CareerCruising where you'll look at potential careers and learn what educational requirements you need to pursue a particular career. You will also learn how to calculate your GPA during one of your classes so you can track how your grades affect your GPA.
